The preparations for the next "Gym for Life" Challenge continues. This event is a competitive version of the World Gymnaestrada and took place for the first time in Dornbirn 2009. It is also organized by FIG together with a selected national federation and this time it is the South African Gymnastics Federation that will host the Challenge in Cape Town July 10 - 14, 2013.

In November 2011, FIG held a colloquium in Cape Town with 31 participants from 19 countries. Invitations to the event were being prepared to be mailed out in December. Provisional registrations must be in by July 2012 and final registrations in January 2013,

The first Challenge was highly successful and the overall winner was an RG/AGG club from Estonia: Piruett. Hopefully many Canadian teams will take the Challenge this time!
